2014

Well, we have reached 2014 and I went into the new year being on the bottom of a dog pile of 4 kids who were attacking me, all in good fun of course. So I missed the countdown and spent the next day with a sore back.

In reviewing 2013, the only major change in my life was starting a new job as a secretary for a lawyer, thus getting away from a job that was eating away at me and causing more misery than it was worth. Other than that my life remains the same. I watch my nephews and niece grow older day by day and I wish my muse would get back from wherever she wandered off to.

So have a blessed New Year.

Fresh Start

Sometimes you put things down, not realizing that you won't pick them up again as quickly as you would like. It has been over three years since my last post. I never meant for that to happen.

Over the past three years, I:
-moved out to my own place
-moved back to my parent's home
-changed jobs about three times
and trying to be creative but my muse must have gone on an extended vacation...

Therefore, I solemnly swear, that I will pick back up with my art, and get working, I will try over the next few days to post some photos of projects that I have done.

Cheers

Books, Books, Books!!!

04192010-002

Today, I finished another book and it hit me, I read about 7 books within the past three weeks. As my work schedule slows down, I am finding more time to work on art projects as well as catching up on my reading list.

Some of the books I read are:

  • “Belle” by Cameron Dokey
  • “Fairytale Weddings” By Debbie Macomber
  • “The Crimson Thread” by Suzanne Weyn
  • “Rose Daughter” by Robin McKinley
  • “North and South” By Elizabeth Gaskell

As well as 2 Graphic Novels:

  • “Pride and Prejudice”
  • “Coraline”

I am starting on the book “Beastly” by Alex Flinn. While at the movies yesterday, I saw the coming attractions for the Motion Picture version of the book. I remembered seeing the book during my many trips to Amazon.com and my local bookstore; so I decided to pick up a copy and get familiar with the story before I go and see the movie this summer.

I am a big fan of the fairy tale “Beauty and the Beast”. three of the titles I recently read, were revisions of that fairy tale; and now I am starting on the fourth version with “Beastly”.

Happy New Year!

So it is 2010..at least it will be in a few hours. If you are one of those who believe that the world will end in 2012, then we are getting closser. :-) Personally I don't believe in it, But I don't want to waste your time with talking about my feelings on the subject.
I would just like to wish you and yours a blessed and happy New Year. May 2010 be a good year for you and may you reach for the stars.
